KASA is now accepting nominations for the 2011 Superintendent of the Year program. Completed nomination forms should be submitted to Cheryl Semmel, executive director, no later than July 23, 2010. To download the AASA Superintendent of the Year program and nomination form, click here.
Nominations and completed applications will be reviewed by the 2010-2011 KASA Awards and Recognition Committe, which is comprised of the following association leaders:
- Brenda Dietrich, Chair, KASA Past President
- Sharon Zoellner, KASA President
- Mike Mathes, KASA President-elect and
- Two KASA board members
The Kansas Superintendent of the Year Interview Committee, which consists of the KASA past-president and four previous Kansas Superintendents of the Year (both active and retired), will conduct interviews of the finalists.
The Kansas Superintendent of the Year will be recognized at the KASA Awards and Recognition breakfast at the USA|Kansas annual convention go on to compete in the National Superintendent of the Year program.
KASA will provide a $1,000 scholarship to a high school senior selected by the Kansas Superintendent of the Year. In addition, each of the four finalists will be able to award a $500 scholarship.
